DESCA was formed in 2010 as the Delaware Sustainable Chemistry Alliance to build an ecosystem around the region's strong foundation of chemistry, biochemistry, and materials science. Between 2010 and 2021 DESCA began to drive its mission, gradually evolving along the way as we uncovered regional needs. Today, DESCA has three key areas of focus.

Every year, brilliant ideas are born in Delaware’s labs and garages. These innovations have the power to change how we heal, build, and power our world. Yet too often, they never reach the market and are lost in the gap between discovery and commercialization.
Tech2Market is a web-based, self-paced training program provided by DESCA and the U.S. Small Business Administration at no cost to participants. With more than 30 training modules, the curriculum covers everything from protecting intellectual property to crafting investor-ready value propositions, navigating regulations, and pitching with confidence. Tech2Market transforms raw innovation into real-world impact through practical guidance and expert-led instruction.
