InsiteXccelerator

$25,000 grant to advance your technology

A Regional Effort to Accelerate Innovation

InsiteXccelerator is delivered through a partnership between InsiteHub, DESCA, and the University of Delaware. The program is a federally funded NIH I-RED program supporting biomedical innovators across the IDeA region including Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  It is designed to expand the pipeline of high-potential biomedical startups emerging from IDeA-state research institutions by helping researchers turn promising biomedical discoveries into successful ventures through targeted training, mentorship, and helping investigators fund their research.

Program benefits

  • Tailored mentorship from experienced biomedical innovators
  • Access to a robust curriculum of over 30 training modules including topics like product validation, regulatory pathways, and securing funding
  • Up to $25,000 in technical de-risking funds to advance your research

Two Tracks, One Mission

  • Pilot Track supports researchers working with institution-owned IP at IX-affiliated universities and research centers. Teams receive mentor support, commercialization training, and up to $25,000 in non-dilutive funding for experiments that de-risk their technology and strengthen a future SBIR or STTR application.
  • Education Track gives anyone in the IDeA region access to more than 30 biomedical entrepreneurship modules covering IP, market sizing, regulatory strategy, reimbursement, business models, and venture formation. No institutional affiliation required.

Who Qualifies for the Pilot Track
Eligible teams must be based in an IDeA state, use IP owned or licensed by their host institution, include an eligible PI, and be developing a biomedical product or innovation.  Teams need not be previously incorporated.
